Can I ZIP my vedio or MP3 files to save space?
If you have a .zip utility you can.
actually, no, you can't. we use the mp3 codec because it is the most efficient way to pack bytes that we have at the moment. zipping an already compressed file (mp3 is a type of compression) will only provide a very few extra bytes at best. most likely, it won't do anything. the same goes for video. the best way to save space with multimedia files is to convert them to a better codec. the best as far as quality vs. space are WMA (for audio) and WMV (for video).
Didn't say anything about how much space it would save
Might be better to copy them to a flash drive if space is at a premium on the machine.
