Bravery.....interesting.....

I didn't get brave until I stopped caring about what other people thought of me ~ to an extent. I still care, but not to the point that it's going to stop me from being the person I want to be or from doing something that is important to me.

Okay, sign me up for the club. You know, the Don't-Give-A-Flip-What-They-Think-Anymore Club. Funny thing, maturity can be. At the age of 26, I felt like a hardened veteran. At the age of 48, I feel 26. Funniest thing is, the less I care about other's opinions of me, the more friends I make. (scratching head over that one...)

There is nothing as refreshing as hanging out with people who prefer to be
"themselves" ... whenever we try to impress, we are showing our true sense of insecurity and self-worth.

We are much more likable and lovable, as ourselves. We are unique, never before and never again, will there be another "you" ... rejoice in your own being!

Visitor,
...I see where you're coming from. I'm in that neighborhood but with a slight variation. I like for people to have a good opinion of ME. me of course is the operative word, not who you want me to be. Of course if I have an offensive trait that offends too many people.....Oh alright, I'll make an adjustment. Evil or Very Mad
...And actually, that's not as tricky, and ambiguous as it may sound. Following the Golden Rule, works wonders.

I understand exactly what you mean, Boo.

Um, I think. Wink

Of course I want people to have a good opinion of me. I try to be considerate of others, but if they don't like me, I don't worry about it. And I sure don't let 'em stop me from doing what I want to do.

Gorsh, yawl are just kids. Cool

Welcome to "grammar" Letty's group therapy session Laughing

I have probably had more illness in my family than many do, but somehow the coffee pot keeps perkin' and the big wheel keeps on turnin'.

Viz, Rae, Misti, John, Boo, Gautam. We have all come to terms with the down side of life, but life does have a way of compensating us, no?

I posted this on A2K sometime back, but I feel that it's worth a rerun:

What a rebel this guy was, and his style does vary, but he knew how to psych out the things that seldom change.

Well, patio. Is your girlfriend's name Maggie or Millie or Molly or May? Smile

Quaint that the last girl on the list signals the end of the month.

Today is the actual Memorial Day and this observation was created when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers. Somewhere I read that The Civil War was the last war fought between gentlemen. Shocked

Gentlemen? Reminds me of George Carlin's bit about a "civil" war...

(there be a dog named Molly, and a great-aunt named Millie... which is the one that saw a monster blowing bubbles sideways or some such?)

Ah, Boo. No wonder Rae has a crush on you. Very Happy

Fair? Fair, you say? Uhoh. I do believe that I've stayed too long at the fair.

Cav, definitely an e.e.cummings fan. Being from Canada, surely you know Bliss Carmen.
