Hey everyone, i got problem with my LG CD-RW drive. When i'm installing games and everything else from CD , in the middle of the process it stops with an error message ( it says that some file can't be read), i start over and it stops at some other file (can't be read). So, what's the problem?
Just guesses, but, without more info, a couple things come to mind up front:
Dirty CD reader - run a cleaning disk through a time or 2
Scratched, dirty, or otherwise flawed disk - look it over carefully, if necessary, attempt to clean or repair it. Before doing that, however, familiarize yourself with the ins and outs of optical disk cleaning and repairing - doing it wrong will win you a shiny drink coaster also useful as a wind-spun garden decoration and/or a frisbee of sorts.
Well i'm quite sure that Cd form which i was installing wasn't dirty. But can you explain " Run a Disk cleaner 1 or 2 times" ??
He is suggesting your drive's lens may be dirty, even if the CD itself is not. You can purchase a CD-ROM laser lens cleaner CD disk, which will clean and demagnatize your CD-RW drive, and run it on your drive a time or two to see if that fixes your problem.
You can pick one up at any electronics store for around $15.
