Anarchy as a state of mind

I was just thinking that anarchy is a state of mind, and if you reach it you will be above the law.

To clarify:

I consider myself an anarchist, or at least one in training. The effect that has on my daily life is that I will not determine the quality of my actions according to law and dogma, but according to conscience and experience.

I am not advocating anarchy as the preferred society structure, since my mistrust towards others is too great.
Having said that I wonder if the laws that seek to protect me from any harm that might befall me, aren't also a barrier towards understanding that mistrust. Simply because they do not allow me to experience it in full, and because whenever they are invoked, they bypass my conscience as I am deprived of the oportunity to react.
