Dell's AIO922 printer/scanner

This is a "newish" home computer (and I am not the Administrator) in the house. I am trying to scan photos of my adult children -- and their children to send via e-mail to distant friends and relatives.
I haven't the slightest idea of how to go about it! I would be VERY appreciative of anyone who can walk me through the process. This computer is a DELL 3000, running Windows XP, linked to a DELL All-In-One (AIO) 922 printer/scanner.
I now feel as dumb as a post! Because the printer is over a year old, and the How-To warranty has expired, DELL Computer has repeatedly declined my requests for assistance in this How-To matter -- unless I go to their very-over-priced, by-the-minute, help line!
Can ANYONE help me? PLEASE!

Typically, there will be a program which controls the functions of the scanner/printer; look in Programs for the scanner/printer's name - that might be enough to get you started.

You can dowload that scanner/printer's user manual HERE

If for some reason you need to reinstall the scanner/printer and no longer have the disk, go HERE
