I have recently installed a Windows XP version: Media Center. Trying to shut it down after I was done, the windows was shut down but the computer was not turned off. It was still on, no activity (which proves the windows is off) but the CPU is still running and the fan is still on..everything is on in the case, but the screen is black.
The monitor is also on.
Previously when I used to shut down, both the monitor and the case used to turn off automatically.
What seems to be the problem?
WHERE seems to be the problem?
How is it fixed?

Check your power settings in bios, what are they set to ?
I checked that. Problem has been fixed. Apprently it was the power settings through windows.
Is that usually the reason for such a problem? Or other stuff might cause it as well?
Problem is usually power settings, but you usually get a "Its now safe to turn of your computer" warning on screen, but in this occasion your monitor must have been going into standby quicker.
