Although my postings are infrequent, as Lady Plushbottom would agree, I wanted to do this post while the thread is still on the topic of "Green, the color of life."

One significant use of green is in the national flags of the Middle East, as well as many other Islamic and Arabic visuals. So much of that area is desert that water is not taken for granted. Where there is green, there may be water, and where there is water, there is life and hope for it to continue.

Aa, so glad to see you again.

An oasis- even a tiny one- seems like a miracle.
A garden is heaven.
When I travelled through Pakistan I understood the magic of a garden and why it is called paradise.
When you passed the gates in the high walls and entered the garden- all noises, dust and heat were gone. It was like entering a new world.

Why, Dear Lady Plushbottom. Here I thought the strawberry
birthmark visible at the upper edge of your ermine merkin was the
quintessence of exotiqué... and now we learn of this map (A
Herkimer Projection? I am led to wonder)... I dare not inquire
further or I may begin to wonder about the precise details of the
topography (the forrested canyon, the Nether Crevasse...) This
will not do.

As to your Rhutabagayeti; as it is written in Rubberyak of Omoy
Kayak:

The Rhutabagayeti stands
with long and slender fingered hands
and eyelashes of bright chartreuse
It seems a beast of Dr. Zeuss.

Veggies, Ligour, and a walled garden. What could one ask for more? Next for me is a walled garden.

Back to the walled moonshine. I am telling you the truth.

Morning dew is very heavy here on the Coastal Plains. Takes hours for it to dry out.

A quick howdy to all you terrific wildclickers!

Did ya all know that nothing much happened July 4?

A quaint town just a few miles up the road celebrates Americas Independence Day on the original day of signing - July 2nd - fireworks and all. Very Happy

Have a great 4th, Happy Canada Day ~ ehBeth, and to everyone else celebrating a holiday - drive safely.

Great news re: leaderboard! Hurray!

That's right re the signing Stradee. Even on the 4th - when actually adopted - the paper was signed by only a couple of guys. The others took years to sign. Probably prudent on their parts - it was a death sentence if we had not won the war. That way - if losing - they could have looked very innocent and said something like, "Huuuuuuh???" when asked about their activities during the conflict. big grin

Say what you will about the 4th. I still look forward to the fireworks as the real start of Summer. The pyrotechnics here in Boston are truely awesome each year. First the Boston Pops performs at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade, then the whole sky above the Charles River lights up in a display that has no rival anywhere. (Howsomever -- ahem -- there's a stong possibility of thunder-boomers tomorrow night which could nix the whole thing. Break, my heart.)

Happy 4th of July!

Twice I had the opportunity to celebrate this day in the States. The first time we all went to have a great picknick in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the second time we stayed in Alexandria,Virginia and had a street BBQ. Later we went along the Potomac to Washington to watch the fireworks.
These parties were a lot of fun.
My daughter still asks for a party here and my American girl gets one, of course.

Merry Andrew,
my friends in Maine say the same: Now summer starts.

Agree Merry ~ the Fourth is quite a celebration!

There are two events in San Francisco that are truly awsome also. One is when the Blue Angels visit, and Fourth of July fireworks - both events veiwed best from the Bay waters - spectacular!

Dan, Happy Family Reunion!

Thought for the day....
