Yes is was all due to perspex or plexiglaz depending on your polarisation.
Margo, thanks for poetical work. Andrew Motion poet laureate retires next year. You should apply. No salary but as much port as you can drink and as many trips on the Eye as you wish.
There was a young man from Koblenz
Whose father instructed "go hence"
He wandered all day
But had no money to pay...
AND THIS IS THE DIFFICULT LINE ANY ASPIRING POET SHOULD FILL IN.

ehBeth- you are in Tronno?
FionaB's sister is in Adawa! And we both have other relatives in Tronno. We spent some time there two years ago. That's where I learned to speak the language.

It's, btw, the Clock Tower of Westminster Palace (Houses of Parliament) and the statue of Queen Boadicea. (Queen Boadicea - described by one Roman historian as a tall, terrifying-looking woman with fierce eyes, a harsh voice, and very long red hair - became the leader of a violent uprising against Roman rule.)

McTag - i'm indeed in Tranna, along with cavfancier and BoGoWo - well not exactly WITH
my parents, hamburger and mrs. hamburger (hey i should post a pic of Setanta with the Hamburgers and the dogs - it was kinda like a mini-A2K get-together!), live at the south-end of the Ottawa Valley. I love visiting Ottawa, especially in the early autumn. It's a decent city.

Tronno is very far from anywhere; I know
No offence or disrespect, of course.

Hardly much to do with London, but the mayor of New York is blaming Canada for the power outage (which reminds me of the song from South Park, Blame Canada! Blame Canada! etc etc) whilst the Premier of Ontario is pin pointing the source of the problem as the US Mid West.
Sounds like fightin' talk to me. Are you guys going to invade each other? Need any assistance? Its a few weeks now since we had a decent war.
