Browser not showing Hotmail and Yahoo images

I have a problem with my explorer and Opera browser only present in hotmail and yahoo email:

The images of the options buttons do not show. i.e the "send" button, the "today" buton, the "compose" button...the "mail" button..etc. The word is visible, but not the image of that button. Its been happening with all my hotmail accounts and yahoo accounts for the past several days. It is NOT happening with other websites, like cnn.com or any other that have images. Only with those websites. Wierd.

Any suggestions on what to do?

I have a windows XP.
