A young man attack 25 people with a knife at the inauguration of the new
Berlin main railway station and wounded them.
Police in Berlin say a man armed with a knife randomly attacked dozens of pedestrians at the inauguration of a new (b) billion-dollar central train station.
At least 25 people were wounded, four seriously.
Police say the suspect had mingled among a massive crowd in the early morning after a sound and light show. The new station is in the heart of the capital and has a shopping mall.
The attack comes amid a rash of racially motivated crimes, including several in Berlin, that have raised concern about security two weeks before Germany hosts the soccer World Cup.
The attack sparked panic and 100 police officers were called to restore calm.
