I have a subscription to PC World. I always find handy tips in that magazine.

I'd like a magazine that wasn't too technical. Is PC magazine very technical?

Surprised

PC World is very good with lots of helpful tips.

PC Magazine is more advanced, and rather heavy on games & gaming. I get more from PC World.

Which reminds me - I have to renew my subscription!

I don't find it particularly technical, and I consider myself a somewhat advanced intermediate computer user. You might want to pick up a couple of different magazines on the newsstand, and see which one suits you the best, before you subscribe.

I had tried out a few other publications, before I settled on PC World. I think that reading that magazine was helpful in raising my level of expertise.

Your library may have subscriptions to some computer magazines. You'd be able to look over several issues before deciding.

Another idea is to look at the online versions of the magazines.

I find that CNet, which is online, is extremely useful. I especially like the reviews of the electronics stuff.

Yes, CNET is a really good source of info. I generally check it before buying.

It's excellent for non-computer stuff, too.

Be sure to look at both PC World and PC Magazine. There is quite a difference in technical level.
