The World's Most Beautiful Woman?

The question should be: "Who is the most popular beautiful woman? It is a matter of taste.
.............................................
The World's Most Beautiful Woman?

(CBS) Who is the most beautiful woman in the world? Half a century ago, Hollywood would have presented her to us. Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman or perhaps Elizabeth Taylor.
.
But today? Correspondent Bob Simon reports the woman who currently holds the title, at least according to thousands of Web sites, Internet polls and even Julia Roberts, is someone you've probably never heard of.
Her name is Aishwarya Rai, and she is an actress living and working in Bombay, India. The reigning queen of Indian cinema, and also a classically trained dancer, Rai has starred in 24 films over the last seven years.
.
That may seem like a lot of movies, but Bollywood, India's film capital, is famous for churning out more movies a year than Hollywood. Three new films are produced and distributed worldwide every day, attracting a global audience of 5 billion people. That's twice the reach of Hollywood.

The World's most beautiful women are represented with simple pictures-

What a delight, wolf lady, and exactly where is that lovely face of yours, honey.

Actually, detano has hit about a topic which is one that I have speculated upon for some time, and that is competition. I realize that the idea is the life blood of capitalism, but is it working in business? I don't think so. As for popularity and beauty, I have helped many Miss America hopefuls only to see them literally devastated when they lose.

OK, that's my rant for the day. <smile>

Among the famous and glamorous beauties I prefer the intelligent ones. Ingrid Bergman, Liv Ullmann, Glenda Jackson, Audrey and Katherine Hepburn, to name a few.
.
Bimbos like Marilyn Monroe leave me cold. Indian moviestars are grinding out hundreds of shallow musicals. Perhaps this lovely girl is intelligent, who knows.

Jeeves and Wooster was on PBS, a wonderful comedy series. Your dream plays an upper class twit to perfection. I like him because he is no twit in real life.

detano, thanks for that site. I have had others tell me what a fantastic actor Hugh Laurie is in many areas. Have you ever seen Dr. House on TV?

Last evening, the show involved a young Japanese man who seemed to be having a series of strokes, but House figured it all out. Unfortunately, I did not, because I don't understand the concept of "the dominant woman" thing.

The young man recovered, but all he wanted to know is if his parents had come to visit. Obviously they had forsaken him long ago because of what they saw as his perverted life style.

I'm afraid that's the only way we'll ever see "her." After all, she is the goddess of love.

Greek goddess of love and beauty
Appearance: Gorgeous, perfect, eternally young woman with a beautiful body.

Symbol or Attribute: Her Girdle, which has magical powers to compel love.

Strengths: Potent sexual attractiveness, dazzling beauty.

Weaknesses: A bit stuck on herself, but with a perfect face and body, who can blame her?

Parents: One genealogy gives her parents as Zeus, King of the Gods, and Dione, an early earth/mother goddess. More commonly, she was believed to be born of the foam in the sea which bubbled around the severed member of Ouranos when Kronos slew him.

Birthplace: Rising from the foam off of the island of Cyprus.

Spouse: Hephaestus, the lame smith-god. Also associated with Ares, god of War.

Children: Eros, a Cupid-like figure.

Some Major Temple Sites: Kythira, an island she visited; Cyprus.

Basic Story: Aphrodite rises from the foam of the waves of the sea, enchanting anyone who sees her and inciting feelings of love and lust wherever she goes.
