Hold me
Even it's just for tonight
Even if it means nothing
Just keep me close
I need reminding
I need somebody to tell me
That there is life on this Earth after all
That the empty hole beside me isn't permanent
It didn't matter 2 weeks ago
A month
A year
But for a little while it was filled
And now that absence
It catches in my chest
I feel so alone
I know I'm not
I'm sane
I'm rational
I know I'm not at sea
Without a life raft
But right now I need you
Need your touch
Need your warmth
So I ask for no promise
No commitment
Just an hour
A single, solitary, tearless hour
When you would hold me near
I think this good poetry from an 18 year old - I'm not patroniziing you -when I was 18 I didn't even know poetry existed!
