Can this be rectified? Can I restore this folder?

Is My Documents simply a different listing of Windows Explorer items?
There are file recovery programs (try google) available for purchase (and probably for free). However, your chances for recovery go down the more you write to the hard drive as the sectors containing deleted info are reused.
My Documents is a folder (not a different view) that resides at:
\Documents and Settings\<user>\
If you are using Windows, go to the Recyle Bin--rick-click it and select open. If you haven't emptied your recycle bin, the documents will still be there. Select the documents one at a time and click on "Restore." The documents will be put back in the folder they came from. If you have emptied your recycle bin since you deleted them, you'll need one of the programs listed above. If you have defragmented your hard drive since you deleted them, you're probably screwed.

My computer has been out of touch with the Internet for a few days, so I didn't get anyof these responses until now. In the meantime I tried the same thing Setanta has suggested, and it worked just fine.
