school vacation. June is the only time, I can make available.
I endorse Barcelona as a good choice for access/accommodation/food/sights.
(NB ehBeth this is not far from Cathar territory...about half a day's drive to Rennes-le-Chateau)

Please look at my post re poll examples...
do we make it about Spain, and narrow that down to place, or make it about Europe, and look further.
Clearly, Spain wins by a landslide among those who have posted so far on older threads and now on this one. But, we have a lot of other a2kers who might be able to make a Europe trip and they may have a pov, thus the plan for a poll.
Since even I agree with Spain, I can see just stopping and planning on that.
But... we should have some room for argument, given that we are natural arguers.
Perhaps I should have titled this, Spain or Why Not?
A poll, who gives me a dollar for a poll?

Very interested in a meeting next year. I'll probably still be working in Prague but would love to go to Barcelona again.
CJ - June isn't school vacation for most of Europe, so it would be ideal to travel before the European masses!

I would be quite happy about Barcelona.
But I think we should welcome other venues but strictly time limited e.g 1 month to get your candidate city in place. Then a poll...then we all go to Barcelona
osso, Go ahead with your poll. People can still select Barcelona as choice numnber one if they so desire. It's early enough to get some input from people that have not visited this site; it's only a day old. We can tell people on a2k about this site on other threads.

Why not have a poll - Barcelona - Yes/No, and we go from there.

Hmmm, CJ, that sounds like a sane idea.
Under Spain, you can include Costa del Sol/Torimolinos. The accommodations are numerous at decent prices, and there are many attractions in the general area for one day trips.
I just put up a location poll, CI, composed of cities. (See my post before yours.)
Once we get one we can develop where we end up staying and meeting.
osso, I thought knowing about the cost and available sites of the venue would be important information.

Each of those trips would involve a couple of weeks of walking and are pretty hmmm focused, so I hadn't originally thought of tying them into trying to meet anyone, but it's a thought.
My general interests, in terms of Europe, are more toward the Baltic and/or Eastern Europe (think former Russian satellites), but my mind is somewhat open to Western Europe as a meeting spot. Not widely open, but there is a thin wedge. I'll be following along to see how things go.
