I've just tried to work the OCR function in my nice shiny new Epson Perfection 4490 Photo, but no go. Attacking it one way results in being told "Twain 5 could not be accessed" and going at it from another direction produces a thumbnail copy with no apparent way to enlarge it for editing, although it appears on the Editing page.
I've emailed Epson, but they have this little problem with non-English-writing tech support, so clarity is an issue.
Anyway, How DO you get Twain onto a computer if it doesn't come in the scanner software?
The necessary files and drivers should be present on the install media for your OCR software, which, from skimming through the support documentation for your scanner on Epson's website, apparently is ABBYY Reader, included on the scanner's main install disk. The TWAIN driver also is available for download from Epson.
