Hi guys and girls,
When I try to submit data to be send to the server on a website I get the page cannt be displayed error message, I can input the data into the fields but cannot submit it.. I have win xp pro and IE 6. I have cookies enabled. any ideas would be wicked.
Gbob
Is it a secure website? IE blocks a lot of stuff by default in order to save Microsoft from lawsuits.
Could it be java-enabled? I've run into that a few times with clients.
cheers 4 the quick reply drew, its definatley a secure website and doesn't have java. hhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm???
Can you view other secure websites? What type of firewall are you using?
And does the unviewable page go to the same URL as the form? I've seen where a form will submit and redirect to another URL, which can't be resolved via DNS.
hmmmmm .......its difficult because the pc is remote and connects dirctly to our server to access our intranet that the page is on. They can access every part of our interface but cannot submit data to be written to our webserver, and i'm not too sure what firewalls or security they have in place.
no its not a vpn, but we do have many locations connecting by vpn and these have no problems.
What's the main difference between the users who don't have problems and the ones that do?
well I'm guessing that there browser has disabled scripting or something similar maybe I should try with firefox see if I get the same thing or reinstall IE at least it will eliminate that.
Is this your site? Did you write it, I mean?
my collegue wrote the site but I helped and have an understanding
So is there javascript involved or is it a straight submit?
