I want to record some songs just for fun, but the drum part is stopping me. I've made some midi songs using Guitar Pro and I recorded a song using the midi drum tracks but it sounds well, horrible.
I tried using Froot Loops for a short while and couldn't get exactly what I wanted.
Has anyone done this and can recommend a program? Or know any good ones?
Hope I've made myself clear.

I use Jammer Pro which is available at
www.soundtrek.com
I also use Sonar,
www.cakewalk.com. With Jammer, you can compose all the instrumental parts. If you PM me, I will send you a link to songs I produced using these software programs.
Do you know how do these programs get their drum track sounds? Midi?
Have you tried sound fonts?
