FYI (buyer beware), not all the Waterford sold in the US now is actually made in Ireland, there are other imports sold here --
They are Waterford but made in other countries.
Be careful, check the labels on the crystal, the box, etc.
My mum wanted goblets for a friends daughter and she had me looking all over the place, specifically for crystal from Ireland. After no luck at Filene's, Macy's, etc. -- I went to the website and used the locater, and she made calls.
Side note: She ended up at a local place in our town that happens to carry it, and she knows the woman for 40 years, and she found some there that were indeed from Ireland. Of course the girl returned them for a different pattern, but c'est la vie.

good, older Waterford is often to be found at a good price at auctions/estate sales/tag sales.

Crystal and sterling silver are two things that auctions are fabulous for - if you're in the market for either.
