AJ Burnett of the Toronto Blue Jays only gave up 4 runs in his debut against the Whitesox. So how is his ERA 6.00???

Did he pitch a complete game? He probably pitched six innings and gave up four runs, so over nine innings he'd have given up six. If he pitched nine innings, never mind.

ERA = Total of Earned Runs * 9 / Innings Pitched

He's pitched in 1 game for 6 innings so far this season and gave up 4 earned runs.

4*9/6 = 6.00
