Shake the egg vigorously to mix up the yolk and the white. Hold the egg upright for several minutes so that the heavier yolk sinks to the bottom, then with a littler perseverance you will be able to stand the egg on its broad end.
Oooo premade Scrambled egg?
Or an Eggnog with out the milk and spice?
Ahah! But how do you spin an egg on it's end? So that it stands upright. Try it...
Ha! What is wrong with hard boiling it, then smashing it onto the table with the little end down, to create a flat bottom for it to sit on! heehee - oh, is that cheating? damn!
Just put some grains of salt on the talble just a few. Then
place the egg where the grains are. the egg will not fall.

How can you tell a hard boiled egg from a fresh one, without breaking the shell?
Candling? The 'white' would be transparent in a raw egg but would be as opaque as the yolk in a hardboiled egg.
There's an easier way. Who knows?
Give it a good spin. If it spins hard the egg is hardboiled.
if doesn't it's not.
You could also shake the egg near your ear and listen.
