This is the coolest thread, Amigo!

Dan - and the Answer:

Eratosthenes was born in 276 BC in a region of northern Africa that is now part of Libya. He studied in Athens, and was the third head librarian of the great library of Alexandria. In addition to calculating the Earth's circumference, Eratosthenes is remembered for his method of finding prime numbers (the Sieve of Eratosthenes), measuring the distance from the Earth to the Sun and the Moon, and numerous, detailed maps of the world as it was known at the time.

Great going Stradee and Merry Andrew...........

This is the solution I worked with =
A group of unicorns is called a blessing.

A group of kangaroos is called a mob.

A group of whales is called a pod.

A group of geese is called a gaggle.

A group of ravens is called a murder.

A group of larks is called an exaltation.

A group of owls is called a parliament.

Twelve or more cows are known as a "flink."

I really have never heard of the last one either......... FLINK ??
Whotta word.........................

Trivia question: what country in Europe has that continent's widest (widest, not highest) waterfall?

It might be Ventas Rumba in
Latvia

...The width is fantastic - 270 - 275 m - measuring along the face of cliff. Thus it seems that the Venta waterfall might be the widest in Europe. The width of Rhine waterfall in Switzerland (measuring the direct distance between distal sides of the waterflow) is 150 m. After seeing both waterfalls in nature I have got serious doubts whether Venta waterfall is two times wider than that of Rhine - would be interesting to find it out more precisely.

River: Venta...

You're right as rain, Ul. And I didn't know this trivial fact until a few years ago when I took a group of visiting Latvians to see Niagara Falls on the US/Canadian border. They told me we might have a higher waterfall than any they had, but not a wider one!

Danon, I'm assuming that Bessie Coleman was born in Tejas, no?
