Hi,
I'm going off to college and I was wondering what would be a good laptop to have around? I don't want to spend too much and I was considering the Dell E1505 Single Core.
Thank You.
Whether or not this is a good laptop depends entirely on what you plan to do with it.
The marketing hype on the Dell website (which I assume you looked at) says this is for entertainment. The technical specs are certainly fine for the types of things you would want to do in college (i.e. write papers, do math etc.) as well as watching movies.
I recently bought the Dell B120 (which is the cheapest they make at about $500) and have been perfectly happy with it-- but I knew what I would be getting and what I would be doing with it.
Do you have any special features you might need that you are worried about?
Well I'd like it to be light-weighted, quiet, and a reasonable carrying size. Also able to last a while w/o batteries. Is the default wireless card good enough? I'd probably be doing a lot of multitasking like chatting on AIM, typing a paper, surfing the web, listening to music. I don't play games but i do watch movies. I'm concerned about flimsy laptops that can come apart easily.
going off to college, ahhh, i remember those days.
i used to think that i will always be young. but look at me, i can't go to college any more. i already graduated.
