I wrote this on september 11th while I was watching the news.
City by the Bay
The eleventh day of September
A day that we will always remember
Many were in the towers that fateful day
In the city by the bay
The elevators went up
The elevators went down
And many rode the subway deep beneath the ground
Many of these souls to never ever be found
The first plane took off from that retched runway
Heading for the city by the bay
The men took over the plane with power
Not caring who was in the first tower
The plane struck the tower a little past eight
The first twin had met her fate
Little did anyone no that miles away
Another plane was on its way
It struck in the side of twin number two
And the city fell into a total gloom
The city looked on in a languishing frown
As later the second tower came crashing down
People looked at the ruble completely distraught
Not believing the damage the plane had brought
Then tower one made a creek of horror
And crashed to the ground floor by floor
But you see this attack was not a checkmate
As the attacker would eventually meet his fate
But still that was an atrocious day
In the city by the bay
