This is my favourite poem, I wrote it when I was 15 & can't for the life of me remember what it was supposed to be about. It still brings evocative images to my head though.
Please feel free to critique.
Break Day
On the day of the break
she did that wild thing.
We knew she could cope
but who was to think
that we wouldn't?
"Crack" the day said, "crack
I'm gonna take you."
On the day of the break
she scared us all.
"Crack" we said.
We fell to pieces, "crack".
Not bad Kitty.
at 15, not bad at all.
