What's the difference between freshbot and deepcrawl?

In this last Google dance I am confused all the time. How can I tell if it's the real thing or if it is a freshbot? My other developers argue about this. - Respectfully - nunbod

Welcome. I have seen this question a lot recently. This Google dance was very odd.

You can tell the difference between the bots in your logs. They use different IP ranges:

64.68.82.* is the fresh bot

216.239.46.* is the deepcrawl bot
