Mom is um, preparing breakfast for the kiddos, something that used to have feathers. They are eager little bitty babies. That's good.

Both parents brought supplies to chicks this morning. Three birds are getting their share and more. The odd one out finally figured about midway through the second course how to lean in to get some.

@Joe Nation,
Not missing it, Joe. Watched the birdlets in NY. They're getting big fast. Watched the fuzz balls in PA--only three.

@Eva,
Ya. Saw some grey pinfeathers on some wings today. Didn't see any hopping around yet. Both parents were there today, sulking in the cold.

@Joe Nation,
Ive been doing work up in the Moosic mountains last 2 days. Ive been seeing hundreds of canada geese families in the edges of fields. Usually 5 or 6 little fuzzy goslings being herded around by over smothering parents. Get too close and youll be wearing some nasty pinches . I hope that the foxes are not too brave.

@farmerman,
I 've got a family of crows out back of the apartment this year. First time in the fifteen years I've been here that the caw-caw-caw has been heard consistently.
Last night they were having a loud discussion with some squirrels about something. It's too early, I think, for any nestlings to be out and about, so I don't know what the noise was about, but they are some loud neighbors.
