Four of the five babies are practicing flying. One crash landed and couldn't be saved.

Wondering if I'll ever get to see the falcons of Water Street, not that there's anything wrong with the PA boids. Just a mini salute to the title of the thread.

@Roberta,
Water Street hasn't a clue. The camera is working IN the building, they said. (OoooKAY) humph.

Up on my rooftop Friday I saw an insistant crow fledgling with his mom. They both disappeared after she fed him something.

@Joe Nation,
Seasons over Joe. The kids in PA are fishing already. Theyll be driving soon.

Sounds like someone has "uninvited" the Water ST family

The peregrine falcons have shown up early in HArrisburg this year. The DEP is all verhootzed to try to turn on their "falcon cam" at the nest box. Maybe by tomorrow theyll have the box and the perch all hosed off and cleaned off. (The big problem is having all the bird **** go tumbling down 20 floors to the street below)

I blame it all on global warming

2010 Nesting Season

Follow the 2010 Nesting Season on Twitter
The adult peregrines are entering this year's nesting season. Soon, we can expect to see them greet each other at the ledge and exhibit breeding behavior. Much of this courtship seems to take place at other locations nearby.

This courtship behavior includes food offerings by the male and displays of flight and hunting skills. The male exhibits these skills seemingly to demonstrate his ability to be a good provider.

Typically, the first egg arrives at during the last week of March. Last year, the first egg arrived on March 21.

This will be the eleventh nesting season for this female peregrine falcon. The male is entering into his sixth nesting season. Carson, the original male at this site was injured on Dec. 16 2004; wildlife management staff decided it unwise to return him to the wild as his hunting skills were compromised by the injury.

This was the first new from the Falcon PAge of PA DEP. ANYBODY need the Url? .

I wouldn't mind a rerun of the URL, farmerman. Save me from scrolling back.

Thanks.

@farmerman,
Thanks, kid. I checked out the site. I saw a train.

Sounds exactly like dating. A guy gives you something to eat in the hope that it will lead to a mating ritual.

Hey, guys. I don't eat rodents--or pigeons. It's a good thing I'm not a falcon. Some poor slob would be flapping around looking for an egg cream and oreos. What are the chances?

fm, I suspect that many, many moons ago, egg creams had an egg and cream. Times change. It wasn't all that long ago that the Second Avenue deli was on Second Avenue.

I check the site. Still haven't seen a boid.

Here. More than a person could ever need to know about Egg Creams. No egg, no cream, not ever, no kidding.

I did learn something from this. My father used to say that the Egg Cream was invented in the Depression because people didn't have eggs or cream to spare.

NY camera still off line. Arrgh.

Another bubble burst, Joe. No egg, no cream. Ever.

Saw a boid at the PA site. Eating something that once was alive. Very handsome bird. The meal, no so much.
