Which twin has the Toni? I was in the commercial.

(NYC, 1950, my dad directed the commercials, and I was tucked in as one of several children in a classroom. What that had to do with a home permanent, as they were called, I cannot now remember.).

Oh, and I am 61. Younger than I was in my late fifties, which were sort of depressing for various reasons. Back on track, and having fun here.

Hi osso, I remember those Toni commercials - now that you mention it. It's strange how our brains need a little hint to remember things from our past. c.i.

Mikey, I wish I could meet you in New York at Christmas time, but I won't be around until January. Let me know if you'll be around in either January (week of Jan, 18 [Sat.] to Sunday, Jan. 26] or early March. (I'm flexible here.) I would love to get lots of us together for an evening. Blatham tells me he may be able to make it then too. Anyone else interested?

more of a get off the cape for xmas fantasy than a reality at this point. i usually go for the week, stay there at that dive on jane street or across the bridge in NJ at my sisters. but i'm game, i love it there. esp lower manhattan.

Well, Mikey, when I know more about when I'll be available, I'll try to get as many people as possible together.

P.S. The Salon is on the West Side, across the street from Washington Square Park. And Ethel's cafe is in the West Village as well. On the corner of Bleecker and MacDougal Streets. Le Figaro Cafe is on that corner and represents in many ways the cafe of Abuzz days. I've always wished some of us could meet there. We talked about it on the Balderdash thread, but we've never done it yet. Maybe in March or so.

Is there really a Lola's Salon? That just might get my a** in gear to make the extra effort and go for it xmas time if they're open.
Hmmmm....now I'm thinking again....

Let's see, I've been divorced 13 years, so that's how long I've been free!

Aaaah, Misti: Such a beautiful picture. Those dolphins make me feel soooo young .

Curving, they draw Curlicues
And serifs with lashed tail and fin
Across the screen of blue horizon -
Images of their delight outside
Displaying My heart within.
(Just a slight digression here with a portion of a Stephen Spender poem, that I just couldn't resist Laughing ) I promise it won't happen again. Embarrassed

RA, please don't promise any such thing....I love your poem, it goes so well with the picture! Thank you for sharing it.

Isn't it funny, I don't feel like the image staring back at me in the mirror, I feel younger ... so how come I don't look younger?

Life is backwards:)

Misti: It's the mirror. They don't make the mirrors like they used to. I got rid of all of mine two years ago. Rolling Eyes

I hate mirrors, RA.....Only use them so as to not scare the little children.....

RA, that was a good move on your part ... I never thought of getting rid of the mirrors, maybe because I need one to put my contacts in:)
