I have already signed this but it makes me think. We must save the seals, that's true. We must also save the whales. That's also true. However, whales eat seals.

A quandry. What to do?

In any case, let's start by preventing PEOPLE from killing seals.

Not the baleen whales.

What do they eat?

Plankton, or something like that. They have strainers instead of teeth, made of what's called baleen (if I'm spelling it right). That was the source of whalebone they made corsets and stuff out of. They were mostly put out of business by the plastics industry. Poor critters.

They spoke to a representative of the new Prime Minister's, and he was just an ass about the whole thing... Doesn't sound like they'll be doing anything to stop it anytime soon.

I've seen footage in the past that showed some of the most upsetting footage about this I've ever seen, so I can't bring myself to watch anymore.

All I can do is sign the petitions and hope for the best.

Yep, I can't watch anymore of that kind of stuff either. I figure I don't have to make myself feel any worse by watching it, I already try to do what I can (don't buy from places that buy seafood from Canada, wrote to the Prime Min, etc). But when I know other people who don't do anything about it, I try to get them to see all that awful footage, I figure they deserve to feel terrible.

Yeah, I hear ya. Unfortunately, not every sports our extra large hearts :-(
