This poem is for my friend who is having surgery today.
'Posie'
(Notes to J.D., 5-01-03)
Tall, and strong,
A very curious
kind of flower,
that will not wilt
with just the sweetness
of an hour;
You wilt not,
Though winds
and storm would
have you cower,
Battered, yes. . .
but standing,
like a beacon tower.

jjorge,
With such a loving tribute, how could things not go right for J.D.
Thanks Letty
I wrote the poem to cheer her at a time when she is indeed being battered.
I think it helped.
jjorge, anytime I write poetry, it's for the same reasons. A need for me to say; a need for others to hear.
Jjorge, your poem would be meaningful and welcome to anyone is a rough situation. I hope things work out for her.
Diane
Thanks.
She's a wonderful, courageous person who has always been strong for others. If anyone deserves a break she does.
She emailed me today after reading the poem. I guess it did help her to feel better.
Addendum:
My friend has been back to work for a week. She's doing well.

Ooh, nice, Letty. Just so.
Lovely poem jjorge, and glad your friend is doing well!
Thanks Soz.
(it's the same friend I was shivering with last night)
Oh! Poems work wonders, my friend.
Jjorge, thanks for letting us know how your friend is doing. Did you read your poem to her?
Hi Diane,
Thanks for your interest.
I Shared it with her but I didn't read it to her. It seemed to make her feel better.
jjorge
I'm sure it made her feel much better.
