He's probably referring to the story of Adam and Eve, where he told them they'd die the very say they ate from the Tree of Good and Evil. They ate from the fruit and they did not die. Hence he lied.
However, I do not believe that any God worshipped by humans on this planet exists, so therefore I do not believe God is a liar. How can something that does not exist, lie?
