He has a terrific voice. I've never been keen on the 80's style, but I would be interested in checking out some of his more recent stuff.

PM me your snail mail address and I'd be happy to make a recording for you. I've got one sitting here ready to go to Gezzy when I get off my arse and mail it.

Hey, aren't the Finn brothers Aussie? Love Crowded House. Wilso, I am downloading a John Farnham song....I really hope I don't hate it.

I believe they're New Zealanders.

John Farnham!?

BBRRRrrrrrrr ... <runs away>

Oh, New Zealandish bands are cool, by the way. They got Flying Nun Records. I used to love The Chills, especially their very first stuff.

I have a flexidisc that came with some magazine and features the most amazing version of "Dan Destiny and the Silver Dawn", much slower and more moving than the version recorded for "Brave Words". And I got a Sneaky Feelings 12" somewhere, too.

I didnt like Crowded House much, but weren't the Finns in some other band in the early 80s? I got this 7" somewhere, whats it called again ... The Fixx, that it?

And if you bother to actually read the post, it's New Zealand's choice, not Australia's.

If you're referring to a high school history teacher, then I would not believe one fact given without considerable research.

The option for New Zealand to join the commonwealth has always existed.

Quote:
"The States" shall mean such of the colonies of New South Wales, New Zealand, Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia, and South Australia, including the northern territory of South Australia, as for the time being are parts of the Commonwealth, and such colonies or territories as may be admitted into or established by the Commonwealth as States; and each of such parts of the Commonwealth shall be called "a State".

Quote:
121. The Parliament may admit to the Commonwealth or establish new States, and may upon such admission The Parliament or establishment make or impose such terms and conditions, including the extent of representation in either House of the Parliament, as it thinks fit.

Both are direct quotes from The Australian Constitution.
