what's next???
Each of the numbers when added together total nine (9, 8+1 etc.). The next number after 18 should have been 27 but was skipped to 36. Then the next number two possibilities were skipped. So I skipped three to get 108.

The sequence is 2, 22, 32 which further compounds it. Threw me for a loop too.

Hi Macsm11 (and thanks for the welcome!)

In the first group, it looks like the sequence is reversed, so I reversed 18 to get 81.

In the second group, the differences between the numbers were 2, 20, and 32. I took the differences between those three numbers, which are 18 and 12 and figured that the next appropriate number would be 6. Adding 6 to 32 and then 38 to 97 is how I got 135. I hope I'm not way off base, but it made sense to me! Very Happy

43 45 65 97 135
2 20 32 38
18 12 6

Actually, the next number in the sequence of 9, 18, 36, 63, ?? is 99.

9 = (9 x 1)
18 = (9 x 2)
36 = (9 x 4)
63 = (9 x 7)

You increase the other factor by 1, 2, 3. So logically, the next factor is 11: 9 x 11 = 99.

By the way, 9 isn't a prime number, nor is 4.

the formula should like the following:

9
18 ( 9 + 9x1)
36 (18 + 9x2)
63 (36 + 9x3)
99 (63 + 9x4)
