Thanks, vinsan. I didn't watch the oscars, so you did a great job of letting us know the scoop.

Crash and War of the Worlds are the only two that I saw, and I am delighted that Crash won.

Three 6 Mafia's acceptance speech had me laughing out loud.

Everybody else was like 'I'd like to thank my mother and John Doe and the Academy and the whole crew, who was amazing.' etc., etc., but Three 6 Mafia gets up there and is like 'Yo 'cademy! We love ya'll!! Wut up moms, wut up Jamal, wut up 3rd street?! Yo shout out to Dizzy B, keep it reeeeeel!! George Clooney wut up? Mad love dog! Yeeah booooy! Yo Three 6 reppin' it!!'
Laughing
It was hilarious.

Then I'm guessing you weren't around in '03 when Eminem's "Lose Yourself" won the Academy Award for Best Original Song?

Not only did I not see the Oscars I didn't see any movies at all this year.

But thanks so much for the list!! I'm going to be looking for that documentary about Kevin Carter. I would love to see that.

Good golly, Miss Molly, another thread on the Oscars. I'm sure this broke last year's record.

I laughed at Jon Stewart's little acerbic bite, "Three Six Mafia" one Oscar. Martin Scorcese none.

Okay seen all the films accept the ones hat haven't been released here such as Capote, transamerica and Memoirs of geisha but then again I write film reviews for a magazine so i have to watch 'em all. But have to comment what a year for cinema some very very enlightening and excellent pieces of cinema there, and wow hollywood nominated some controversial pieces too. Amazing stuff.

Agree thiefofolight, i'm glad Tsotsi won but I am biased here Smile

But it seriously was a good film and deserving of an oscar.

Well, I see by your location why you believe yourself to be biased  , however, I honestly believe it deserved to win.

In addition, I was absolutely delighted that CRASH won Best Picture. Go figure!

I so enjoyed Reese Witherspoon's acceptance speech. Yes, she has swept award show after award show, however, not only did I love Johnny Cash as well as WALK THE LINE, but when Reese spoke of Joaquin Phoenix and the crowd cheered for him, I was genuinely moved.

PS Jon Stewart was wonderful as host ... Laughing
