oh, i love that game! but someone in my family blocked it, because i never worked and just played it.
okay, there's heaps of ways to get money. basically, go around killing trillions of goblins (pretty weak), etc. and also collect cow hides to sell at the cow hide place i've forgotten where and trade them in for armor, mine stuff to make into armour, etc.
also, if you see a newbie having trouble, have a go at helping them - won't cost much. this guy i helped, later on became so good at the game and rich, and everyday he'd give me back, like, 10 000 dollars or whatever they are.
anyhow, hope u didn't know this.

oh, and remember to eaqually practice each skill - even killing cows can get your level up. remember to get an axe and tinderbox, and spend heaps of time chopping trees, and get a fishing net and fish. when these go up, your overall score will go up

and i remember something else! (if you don't read this, i will be so annoyed)
you know that 'dark' place, or whatever it's called, go in there.
you don't need a high level. look for where it says the treasures are, and move around the places of evil. get the treasures, and go back. you can find gems, strong shields that are expensive, etc. really cool.
oh, and try a couple of quests. some don't include fighting, just brains.

I've played the game before, and I actually was pretty good at it. Since your low level, I agree what mans said, kill cows- you get exp very fast, and I always kill them up to even level 40 combat for my pkers.
