Well done Canada, your ladies curling team have just got through to the semi finals! Bloody well done!

Of course, this means that the GB team are now knocked out, but I won't hold it against you.

Jeez - I thought I saw some games at the Sydney Olympics called hockey - and they didn't involve any ice. Of course, they didn't involve any Canucks, either!
I think some Australians ended up with some gold medals!

That's called field hockey. There's also street hockey.

Ice hockey has been a big professional sport for quite some time. I don't like the rough stuff, but I like the game overall.

I don't think you can call any of those sports the "real" hockey.

No!!! oh no no no no! czechs are good, humble, poor folk. let them have the medal...at least silver. Gold should of course go to Slovakia, which is even gooder, humbler and poorer.

I've never heard hockey called field hockey - it's just hockey here!

We do have some ice hockey here - but it's not a big deal - something to do with the fact that we don't really have ice in any decent amounts. I can't imagine it's a professional game here - and as far as I know, we didn't send a team to the Cold Limpix!

Summer games, though - we're up there with the best of them - and often are...the best of them! Male and female.
