I am from Israel. This country is located in Asia as well, in its Western part, but racially Israelis are not Asians (neither Jews, nor Arabs are), they are Caucasians (Whites).

HorriBelle- We actually have members from all over the world, even though the majority are from the US.

It takes awhile to get used to working with A2K, but once you do, it is very easy. If you go to Forums, you will see a category, "Forum Help". There are lots of great tutorials about navigating the site. If you get really stuck a Moderator or Content Specialist will be happy to help you.

So just jump in, and have fun!

Monger, My uncle took my father's ashes back to Japan to be buried in the family haka in Hiroshima before WWII. When my wife and I visited Japan in 1981, we visited Hiroshima and my father's grave. We still have relatives there, but I don't speak Japanese flutently, so was unable to communicate with them. Several years ago, I wrote to the Hiroshima city hall to get family history, and found that our great grandfather and great great grandfather were samurai. There is no family history beyond that. The family historical documents were written in the old Chinese style, and many contemporary Japanese are unable to translate these documents. Fortunately, my older brother in Sacramento has a well educated friend from Japan who translated over 95 percent of the document into English. Unfortunately, I'm the only one in our family interested in geneology, and the stuff I have will not mean much to our two children. Over half of my nephews and nieces are married outside of our culture. c.i.
