Christians abrogating the Bible:

Eating swine while it is prohibited in the Bible.

"And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you. (Leviticus 11:7-8)"

There goes your Christmas and Easter ham and pork.

It amazes me how the polytheist trinitarian pagan christians are the world's biggest consumers of pork meat!

Talk about respecting GOD Almighty and obeying His Divine Will!

if the polytheist trinitarian pagans EAT PORK because it is not prohibited in the NT, then SHOULDN'T that also allow for them to start marrying their own siblings (brothers and sisters) or their nieces and nephews, OR EVEN THEIR OWN PARENTS??

I mean, who's really to say no if the NT doesn't prohibit it!!

HECK, they're now allowing for men to marry men and women to marry women!

What's next? Marry your own dog because the New Testament doesn't say no?!

You think some christians wouldn't do it?

Damn straight!

The next thing you know they'll be asking permission to be polygamous for the welfare of the widows and the orphans of the wars!

Then they'll want to marry whole litters of puppies!

Christians are freaky sausage burners and then some.

How can you eat pork when the pig is the "trash can" of the animal kingdom?

Well, that's a bit better I guess. Why do you think the pig is the "trash can" of the animal kingdom?

As most of you know, I don't subscribe to any religion but this ali87 character gets my goat enought to make me defend Christians even when I don't have anything riding on the defense.

Once upon a time I had a thread about the virgin Mary and some of the loveliest, most beautiful posts came from one of A2K's Muslim members.

Mary has a special place in the Muslim faith. I never knew that and it was wonderful to find this commonality, even though it was so different.

It gave me this feeling of beautiful inclusiveness that Muslims have for the stories handed down through the Bible (even if they interpret it differently).

I love common ground more than just about anything.

Then along comes ali87 with crap that could put even the most fundamentalist Christian to shame and it just makes me mad.

He does his God, which, by the way, is the SAME God that the Christians worship, such a disservice and he doesn't even know it.

It's sad, really.

Boomerang,

I hear you. He's just very set in what he believes and he seems willing to take whatever comes his way about it.

Thank you FreeDuck!

Honestly, it makes me ache.

I even suspect that ali87 is a plant to stir up Christian fundamentalest fervor because his posts are so inflamatory.

It seems almost Karl Rovian in it's weirdness.

I'm usually not paranoid but ali87 is such an idiot that I can't help but think he can't be real.

Ali,

That article is from 1897. You would't happen to have anything more recent would you?
