remove java/byteVerify virus

Sad I have java/byteVerify virus infected on my pc. I am running WindowsXP Home with Internet Explorer. Can anyone tell me the steps to remove them.They are driving me crazy.thanks Fred NJ USA,

Point of clarification, BTW - the Java/ByteVerify Exploit is not a virus, it is a trojan.
