For my college class I need to find an article that ties in with the theme
"an uncommon look at the common"
As an example, our prof gave us an article about disney and how there is a lot of crap that goes on with that corporation that the general public doesn't know about. We also watched that Wal-mart movie.
If anyone has any ideas of a topic, or knows of any good articles, that would be greatly appreciated! thanks!!
An appropriate topic may be on plagiarism.
What role does it play in modern education and does it assist significantly in learning?
How much of it goes on?
how about the common attitude to smoking? read any of Allen Carr's stuff and he absolutely turns around the way society looks at nicotine addiction.
he's pretty successful in his success rate too (95% who attend his clinics)
Its not too hard to research either, if you just take all the information from one of his books. (UK- statistics though)
I'm just doing a presentation on it at the moment so plagiarising him totally!
Good Luck :-)
How about "Fast Food"
Start with the article in
Rolling Stone or
Nation that became the basis for "Fast Food Nation"
Or "Media Bias", I'd suggest
FAIR as a good stepping-off point for that.
Us Economic Policy
You would think US economic policy is implicitly designed to help the US economy. Yet this does not always seem to be the case. How much of what the Fed does is linked to US foreign and domestic policy, among other political agendas, to the detriment of the US economy?
thank you!
These are all great ideas, thanks everyone!!!
