Upon Closing Your Eyes

Some musings from sleepless night over the weekend, about someone who I thought I was very close to, but turns out we aren't what we thought we were, and it can never be...it started off as a positive 'love poem' I guess, and over the weekend turned into a sort of 'goodbye and sorry we couldn't get past the dreams' poem....not really looking for any very harsh criticism as it isn't supposed to be technically correct etc, just words that needed to come out...

Upon Closing Your Eyes

Upon closing your eyes...
Do you see my face
Do you imagine the warmth of a single embrace
Do you dream of kissing under a moonlit sky
Do you long to smile but never know why

Sleep soft and deeply
I will linger there
A tender touch to soothe
And comfort your despair

Knowing of you what I do..
I couldn't love you more

I like it! "I will linger there" That line kinda pulled it all together for me. Good stuff, post more!
