Start>Programs>?

When I click on Start>Programs> there are 2 1/2 columns of Programs, but the right hand (partial) column only shows the first letter of the program title. So I have the Start menu running up the left side of the screen, 2 full columns in the middle, and only the barest beginning of the right hand column.

Has anyone else ever had this problem?

How can I fix it (other than dropping a lot of programs which obviously I don't want to do)?

Confused

A perhaps more useful addendum here - even with a 15" monitor, I'd suggest at least 1024 X 768.

Another thing you might wanna do is go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Taskbar and Start Menu>Start Menu, and play around some with the various options there (check out the "Customize" menu via the "Customize" button) to see if you an come up with something that suits you.

I have a 19" flat panel monitor set at 800X600. I have to switch to 1024x768 for some programs, like Photoshop, but I am not comfortable with it.

Timber, as your avatar shows, you are an eagle, and probably have eyes to match. I become very uncomfortable with anything smaller than 800X600, and my eyes are not that bad!

You might find choosing a larger font under the Appearance tab in Desktop Propreties Settings enables you to use a higher screen resolutuon. Also, under the Settings tab, in the sub-menu brought up by clicking the "Advanced" button, you can adjust the DPI (Dot Per Inch) setting; the default is 96DPI, you can choose 120 DPI, or any custom setting you wish - might be worth experimenting some with that. Whatever your eyesight, an 800x600 resolution is just plain not up to a buncha stuff - bummer, mebbe, but thats the way it is.

timber- I tried what you suggested, (increasing the pixels, and enlarging the DPI), and it just looked peculiar to me. I will just have to keep the monitor at 800x600, and change it when necessary. Thanks anyway, for the idea.

I think I'll do like Phoenix - I have the same setup - and switch when I want to do Start>Programs. The 800x600 is more comfortable for most things, I think.

Thanks for your help.
