CD Drive not working

After having problems with iTunes that I think are now fixed I have a new problem that may be connected, not sure. But the advice I got helped before so I'll try here again.

Now my cd drive isn't working. It won't read any cds that I put in. I've tried the 'Driver and Manual cd' disc that I have but it won't read it.

I'm on a laptop, have all the original discs for windows xp (haven't put them in yet). Do I have a virus? What's going on?

Driver
I'm not sure on the problem, wether it's something wrong or not.

But i think you might be able to solve this by downloading and installing the newest driver for your CD drive.

If you don't know what drive you have, try finding it with everest:
