Hey!

I have a Dell M992 monitor linked up with my Dell Dimension 8300.
My problem is that (specially) in the left - bottom of the screen the picture shakes and i see black/normal very fast but i can still see it.

My graphics card is 128MB ATI Radeon 9800, with the latest Catalyst Control Driver. I also tried to download a driver from dell to the monitor. Nothing worked.

I have next to my pc:
- phone and wireless phone
- Wireless mouse
- Printer (usb)
- Digital Camera + battery loader
- Energy output (pretty close).

I have been told that this is a CRT monitor and automatically 'degauss' by itself.
When i run monitor self test (disconnecting it from the computer) it doesn't look wrong. But the test (a window wandering over the screen) don't "wander" to the end.

It's worst when i enter safemode, because then the whole screen shakes.
I haven't been in safemode for scanning because of that in a while.

First thing to do would be to remove all electronic devices - and speakers, if any - from the vicinity of the monitor, and see what happens. Odds are one or more of the toys you have near your monitor is the source of your problem.

Two things:
1. Your eyes could be sensitive enough to see the screen refreshing. Typically the threshold for human sensitivity is 60 hertz, which is the VGA standard, and is what your screen defaults to in Safe Mode. Try increasing the refresh rate.

2. Try moving all of the other electronics away; my mobile phone causes periodic flickers in my CRT if it is too close (within 1 foot or less).
