Let me get the air freshener out, kickycan. Either that or maybe we can make some wine?

farmerman,

I will make a deal with you ~ you stop posting words I have to look up all the time and I won't use my smileys. We got a deal or what?

I have a better idea. Answers.com has this neat little program. It downloads a tiny tab, which you can put on the bottom of your screen. When you want to look up a word, you hit the tab, type the word in, and up it comes. And it is so much more than a dictionary.

Anyone who has used GuruNet or Atomica will be familiar with this. The new program is the successor to the other two, and offers much more information for free.

I use this program constantly when I am writing on A2K, either to check out a word that I don't understand, or to find a better way to say something.I find it a great way of increasing my vocabulary.

I always consider the day lost if I do not learn something new. You have already put me ahead for today. Thanks!

Have you googled it, Reyn? The word has a long and respected history, but yes, it still comes back to Dyslexia.

Yes, so I see. It was used here:

....way back in 14 April 2003, I see. Dys has just been chomping at the bit to use it again. Laughing

You realize, just not everybody can slip a $2.00 word like that in any old sentence!

Even more than that, I think -- I can't remember exactly, but I seem to remember something about dys starting the word IRL and it becoming an actual (slang, anyway) word... I'll see what I can find...

Oops, Phoenix's link doesn't work anymore, but search for "insegrevious" or "insegrievious" in Google and you'll find many definitions, like this one:

Quote:
insegrievious: Expresses anything and nothing at the same time,
while sounding official enough to dazzle your listeners.
Example: Thank you; that was very insegrievious of you.

You are the most insegrievious SOB I've ever met!

If you'd stop being so insegrievious, I'd be more than willing to listen to you.

Husker,

Here's the short version:

I got my feelings hurt.
I did something stupid.
I admitted I did something stupid.
I am still doing stupid things. Laughing
