I have 4 USB plugins on the side of my dell monitor, but they don't work, Can anyone help me with this?????????/
Thanks Josh
Step one would be to look at the monitor's configuration/settings page (if it has one) to determine whether there is an on/off function for its USB ports, and, if so, determine it is set to "On".
Step two would be to shut down the machine, turn off the monitor (power both of them down), replace the USB cable with a known-good cable, and power back on.
Step three would be to see what Device Manager reports - right-click "My Computer", select "Properties", click the "Hardware" tab, click the "Device Manager" bar, scroll down to "Universal Serial Bus Controllers", click the "+" sign to expand the tree, and look for yellow or red flags. If you see any, right-click on the entry, select "Properties", click "Troubleshoot", and follow the prompts.
it may just be that the device you are plugging in to the usb cannot draw enough power from that usb source, I get the same problem but it works ok in the main PC usb ports
Good catch, gbob - another case of timber overlooking the obvious
so you are human thought u were a robot....its all good
