Just wondered your thoughts on which coding language you use and why and any other thoughts.

They aren't languages !
They're mouse driven rubbish that eat system resources and do nothing but hog your bandwidth !
Over complex bloat-ware.
They encourage nothing but the sloppiest and most poorly optimised code. Appalling waste of cycles.

You code with a keyboard and a prompt. Not a mouse !
Harumph harumph !

Having a bad day, Heliotrope? Laughing I prefer ASP with VB. It's the easiest to learn and does pretty much everything I want to do.

Nah, just I used to be an old-school programmer.
6502 and Z80A machine code and assembly.
I used to write in binary a lot on my old BBC Micro. Wrote my own operating systems and all sorts of other rubbish. Did a lot of work on assorted development CPUs just working with the processor and almost nothing else on a small breadboard.
There were times when I had to start CPUs by soldering switches to them and making sure they were switched in the right order to even get the damn thing to start up so I could even begin to program it with a keypad.
RML380Z, BBC Micro, Spectrum, Apple I, ZX80 and 81 etc... etc...

It was all good fun.
Gawd I was a sad muppet.
Haven't changed much.

and you probably never commented your code (real programmers don't comment, do they?)

I never could master machine code. I stared out with an old Tandy 100 and the original Basic. It didn't do much, but it was fun to play with. I only program for my self and for the fun of it anyway. I would hope that the people that are designing the software that I pay for use a language that's a little less wasteful. But than again, that's why our machines are getting faster and more powerful for the same price that we paid for our old machines, isn't it?

Comments !
Pah !
Wink

Actually there was never enough memory for comments plus the languages didn't support them.
You either knew them or you didn't.
There was no way to work out what was going on without an intimate knowledge of the language and the processor.
Remember I was having to fit an entire OS into a 32k EPROM.
Yes, 32k. Kilobytes.
Jesus.
My graphics card in this thing has 8000 times that memory on board !

i bet you owned an HP calculator with reverse Polish notation--assuming you could afford one, that is. i have one that still works, but not an original; it's in a thin form factor about the size of an index card. Smile

What sort of issues would you suggest I have ?

Or would you perhaps like to wander down to the shops and purchase yourself a sense of humour with a side of irony so you can understand what I was saying ?
Then again, don't bother.
It'd be wasted on you.
