Back off, gang, this piling on Okie has gone too far - not that I know what's been going on in my absence, I'll read the pages I missed in a moment.
I did however get around to reading Mein Kampf (don't know how I had missed reading it before) and have a question: I always thought Hitler didn't like Jews because they tended to be leftists, and in fact many of the original communists who took power after the 1917 revolution were jewish eg Trotsky. But Hitler seems to detest them not because of left-wing sympathies but because he has somehow linked them to the spread of syphilis, of all things; of course there was no cure until penicillin arrived in the early '40s, and it is a terrible illness, but does anyone know why Jews, in particular? They weren't sailors, and syphilis is known to have arrived from the Americas with the returning ship crews. Tks to anyone who knows.
