@mismi,
Sorry but Clive Owen didn't star in Batman. That was Christian Bale in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

And I hope you got a good night's rest dear Mismi. Smile

@mismi,
wearing: jean shorts, stripey stretchy sleeveless tee undershirt, Rose Cafe (old favorite hang out) tee, blue grey with large white digital looking rose. Brown leather flops, good c. 1900 zircon ring ( I should really take a photo of it), thrift shop watch (Guess).
Rose Cafe - I've shown my paintings there, but long before and after that, I've loved the place. Now my "office" when I visit Los Angeles.
Note - last time I was there, their croissants took a giant nose dive into lower than ordinariness, after decades of greatness. Someone must have retired.

@mismi,
Don't be like me though, have one too many and post. I know, I know, you won't.
Mostly I don't, either have too many or post then if I do. I admit doing it. I also sound wracked lots of other times, say if I've been up all night and day reading, dry eyes and their symptoms, mad mind.
But I don't care so much about normative now.

Chocolate milk and rum isn't the evil it might seem. What were those old drinks? Brandy alexanders?

Personally, I do best on a mix of red wine and Jumex fruit nectar (there are many) and some pellegrino or similar, with gaggles of ice. But I'm a sucker for rum and choc milk on ice blocks.

I knew in my adulthood a professor of much literary position (my husband's mentor, my friend) who had a well stocked bar, probably for the benefit and show to his english department, on varied occasions. Thus I got to try a lot of really good spirits. I can't afford them, but if I could, they'd be for sipping.

@tsarstepan,
That photo is of the Rose Cafe that has grown, or not, from my time. My time involved an indian family (our landlords elsewhere) retaking over this lame building in an iffy part of town, though not entirely iffy. Original Gold's gym, if I remember, x number of feet away. And later one of the Phoenix schools. Whatta mix...

The plate Tsar shows... is a what? to me. I'd hate to see this being a snot place.
On the other hand, I suppose the kitchen is playing, it always has.

Let them find a new person who knows how to make real croissants!

On the other hand, when I and my ex and I met last December, we met at the Rose and talked for something like two or three hours. The food didn't hurt.
A friend had his wedding there.

@mismi,
Don't hug too tight - we're pretty nasty right now - the temp was around 100 in the afternoon, with a humidex reading of 109F

yuccccccccccckkkkkkkkky

we do have two small window air conditioners upstairs, but they're hard-pressed to keep up on days like this (and they're asking us to reduce use as we've been having power black-outs because of high energy demands)

sticky

this is the weather that makes a grrrl want to shave her head

I've seen a variation of those chilly pads in bandanna format - I think I'm going to have to pick some up.
